If it’s been more than 10 business days from the time you finished your renewal online, you can call the DMV at 1-518-486-9786 or 1-800-698-2931 to ask about the status of your renewal.
If you want to check the status of your license mailing online, you can click on this link https://process.dmv.ny.gov/LicenseMailingStatus/ to check on the status of your renewal.
If you’re stuck, we recommend trying to process your renewal again here if you’re successful, it most likely means that the first application didn’t get processed correctly. If you get a confirmation screen with a temporary document it means your renewal was successful and your new license will be mailed to you within 10 business days. It’s important to update your address with the DMV here before processing your renewal to make sure your documents don’t get mailed to the wrong location.
You can take the required vision test online!
If you’ve tried renewing your driver’s license online and you’re getting an error message regarding a vision test, it most likely means the DMV hasn’t received your results. If you’ve taken your vision test online with us and the DMV hasn’t received your results, you should wait 24 hours and try again. Sometimes there are delays with the DMV’s website so if you try to renew before we’re able to submit your results, you’ll get an error message. If it’s been 24 hours since your exam, please contact support@clearedtodrive.com, and we’ll be able to assist you. In most cases, your results are submitted immediately and you’ll receive a confirmation email from us while still on your video call confirming that the DMV has received your vision test results.
